Lotus
Sutra Exhibition Held in Madrid, Spain
 From February 17-March 10,
2012, the Institute of Oriental Philosophy (IOP) together with the
SGI-Spain co-organized the “Lotus Sutra—A
Message of Peace and Harmonious Coexistence” exhibition at SGI-Spain
Culture Center in Madrid. This was the second Lotus Sutra exhibition
held in Spain.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Dr. Carlos Rubio, supervising editor
of the Spanish translation of the Writings of Nichiren Daishonin and
professor of Japanese language and literature at the Complutense
University of Madrid, presented a speech titled, The
Lotus Sutra: Ideas and Values.
Dr. Rubio is an expert of applied linguistics and well versed in
Japanese literature as well as religious history. He has also been
involved in the publication of Spanish dictionaries for Japanese
learners.
