Lotus
Sutra Exhibition Held in Calcutta, India
From
August 7-13, 2010, the Institute of Oriental Philosophy (IOP) together
with Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) and
the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) cosponsored the
exhibition “The Lotus Sutra–A Message of Peace and Harmonious
Coexistence” at Rabindranath Tagore Centre in Calcutta. This was the
fifth exhibition held in India.
The exhibition, which conveys the
message of the Lotus Sutra known as the king of sutras, introduces the
Lotus Sutra Manuscripts series published by Soka Gakkai and other
facsimile editions of the Lotus Sutra, presented to SGI President Ikeda
by leading figures of the world.
At the opening ceremony, Professor Bharati Ray, Vice President of ICCR,
delivered his greetings. Some 3,000 viewed the exhibition during its
seven-day showing.
