Lotus Sutra
Exhibit held at the National University of Tucumán
On
November 22-29, 2014, the exhibition “The Lotus Sutra--A Message of
Peace and Harmonious Coexistence” was held at the National University
of Tucumán (UNT) in Buenos Aires, a national university located in
Tucumán Province, the largest in Argentina's northwest region.
The exhibition, jointly
hosted by the Institute of Oriental Philosophy, El Centro de Estudios
de Asia y África (The Center for Asian and African Studies), and
SGI-Argentina celebrated UNT’s 100th anniversary.
Alicia Bardónand,
chancellor of UNT, and Liliana Palacio, director of The Center for
Asian and African Studies, attended the opening ceremony. Many people
from Tucumán province also attended the ceremony.
On exhibit were panels
introducing the history of Buddhism, a facsimile version of
manuscripts, and the Lotus Sutra Manuscript Series published in
collaboration with the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian
Academy of Sciences, the National Archives of India, and other academic
institutions.
